Bio Rum Premium: Taste of innovation
Bio Rum price is a fair representation of the research put into its making. This Indian beverage is marketed as rum with “herbal actives” that hinder side effects. The bottle has a cuboid shape and comes with a black top and a black and red label. The designs stylized classics: smooth, soulless, unimpressive.
Bio Rum contains 48% (v/v) alcohol and is supposed to have a recognizable aroma. It is manufactured by Biotech Spirits. The man behind the company’s drinks is Dr. B. Srinivasa Amarnath, described as an experienced Ayurveda practitioner.
To avoid the use of synthetic compounds, he and his fellow scholars have filled the drinks with “bio alkaloids” (according to the corporate website). The company has a peculiar vision: “To enrich the taste and health of liquor-consumers, without compromising one aspect for the sake of another.”
We are not aware of any Bio Rum Premium cocktails, but with as much as 11 herbal actives, this rum’s a cocktail in itself. Of course, the recipe has a right to exist and may even be enjoyed by some consumers, but where it comes to marketing, to position an alcoholic beverage as a healthy product is a dubious strategy.
One may argue that this was the strategy that made low-alcohol beer so popular. Well, to make Facebook youth or businessmen in the Middle East buy low-alcohol beer is one thing, but how would you make them buy non-Caribbean high-alcohol rum?
People usually choose hard liquor to get drunk, or for the aesthetic pleasure of having quality alcohol. Both types don’t tend to care about the side effects.
Nevertheless, to conclude this review we will rate Bio Rum Premium as an interesting innovation that comes at a reasonable cost. Check if you have it in your city, and tell us what you think.
